The recent raids of foreign consulting and advisory firms, appearing to be part of an anti-spy campaign, have no doubt unsettled the foreign business community in the country. The campaign follows upon the adoption of the revised Anti-Espionage Law by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, on April 26, 2023 and demonstrates China´s intention to prioritize on the interests of national security.
With the revised Anti-Espionage Law coming into effect on July 1, 2023, foreign business are well advised to familiarize themselves with the new regulations to avoid the risk of non-compliance.
Philip Lazare from Shaohe Law Firm Shanghai, will introduce the recent changes to the Anti-Espionage Law and highlight potential implications for multinational corporations.
