New guidance on cross-border salaries for German citizens

The German Ministry of Finance has issued new guidance on the taxation of wages and salaries for cross-border activities. Its interpretative letter dated 12 December 2023 will tighten the rules in many areas and lead to double taxation. In many cases, the changes disregard the taxation situation outside of Germany. In this webinar, we invited EY tax experts in Germany to share with us the following points
Tax residency
Economic employer & documentation obligations
Taxation of remuneration paid for a period of time
Special attention for assignees from Germany to China
