The annual meetings of China’s legislature (National People’s Congress) and political advisory body (Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference), collectively referred to as the "Two Sessions", kicks off on March 5th. As one of the major political events this year, decisionmakers will announce economic targets for 2025, appoint top government officials and pass major legislations that will affect German companies in China. After the business sentiment of German companies hit a historic low last year, the Two Sessions are eagerly awaited for further indications on future economic policies and more insights on fiscal stimulus and boosting demand.
