With the accelerated globalization and local policy change, the healthcare insurance needs of foreign employees and their families in China have become increasingly diverse and complex. Building a medical welfare system that takes compliance, cost-effectiveness, and employee experience into account has been a core challenge for the human resources management of multinational companies.
Healthcare System Divergence
The healthcare systems in China, Germany, and the United States are very different. Foreign employees often face a knowledge gap, leaving them unaware of crucial information such as "drug list restrictions" and "cross-border reimbursement processes." This discrepancy creates a mismatch between the benefits offered by companies and employees' expectations.
Compliance Volatility
China's social security law dynamically adjusts the requirements for foreign nationals to participate in social insurance, and the implementation of the law differs in many places. If companies are not careful, they would face hidden dangers such as double taxation and employment disputes.
Operational Friction
From language barriers to inadequate direct-billing networks, fragmented healthcare experiences erode employer competitiveness.
Against this backdrop, the German Chamber of Commerce in China - East China is organising this GCC Circle: Health Insurance for Expats in China.

No-shows will be charged with the full price. Cancellations and refunds need to be requested at least 48 hours before the start of the event. Applications after that will not be approved.
