    Kathleen Schultz, a dual American and Swedish citizen, has worked as a school and university counselor at the secondary level for almost 25 years. She began her international career in Europe working at two leading international schools and after 13 years decided to take on a new challenge and move to Asia. She has since worked in Bangkok, Thailand and Shanghai, China. Kathleen holds a Master’s Degree in Education Counseling and has been actively involved in professional organizations ranging from the Council of International Schools (CIS), European Council of International Schools (ECIS), EARCOS, NACAC and International ACAC. Currently, Kathleen sits on the National Association of College Admissions Counselors (NACAC) Communications Committee and the Executive Board of the International Association of College Admissions Counselors (IACAC). Kathleen is currently the Director of University Counseling at Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong and President-Elect of the International Association of College Admission Counseling. Access to education and advocacy for students and our profession are issues Kathleen is passionate about.

Before Qibao Dwight, she used to work for Shanghai Wenlai International School in charge of English teaching and college counseling. In 2012, she started to participate in the preparations for Qibao Dwight. She worked as the Director of Student Affairs and CAS Coordinator since the school was established. In 2017, she served as the Director of Admissions, College Counseling and Communications. The first-line working experience in international education attracts her attention on student’s personal growth and school management under different cultures. She describes herself as a creative and reflective learner. She produced many school handbooks, and had ample experience in project management.

The quality delivery and solution were well recognized by clients and she has consistently achieved “ Delivery Excellence” recognition. In 2014, with a track records of project management excellence and due to her bilingual capability, Gallup Headquarter sent her back to China to lead the ASC mandarin program to certify Chinese strengths coaches and promote Strengths assessment tool . In 3 years, Strengths assessment users doubled and increased by 200,000 in China and over 100 coaches were certified in China. Since she moved back to Shanghai, China, she has led consulting services and training program for fortune 500 companies in multiple countries including Singapore, Australia, India, New Zealand, and also have coached teachers and students in higher education including Tsing Hua University. Due to her expertise in positive education and strength-based approach, she was invited to design and architect strengths-based leadership and career exploration programs for Walnut Unified School District, a top 5 school district in California. The program has bee implemented in school since 2016 and was well recognized by the school, teachers and students. And with that experience, she also founded an education not-for-profit organization: Asian Young Leaders Institute to promote positive education.
