This session is dedicated to the state-of-the-art and future needs in a number of areas extending from the classical applications of energetic materials (propellants, explosives, munitions, pyrotechnics, and gas generators) to the collateral areas of unconventional applications and energetic materials Life-Cycle Management. Prospective new energetic materials and new concepts will be discussed as well as practical problems related to quality control, aging, hazards, impact, disposal, and remediation of the energetic materials, in use today or in the near future, for space exploration or defence. Contributions are sought regarding every kind of energetic materials applications, with particular attention to green chemistry and technology for all issues involving their manufacture and use. In the area of chemical propulsions (including solid, liquid, hybrid, and gel propellants) the focus will be on chlorine elimination and mitigation of pollution in its multiple aspects.Harmless processing of retired ammunition and utilization of renewable resources of energetic materials. Of course, performance, safety, and cost remain the primary objectives for all users.

This session is to provide a forum for researchers in novel manufacturing processes and management to share the latest progress and establish cooperation, which welcomes new research results from academia and industry. This session is dedicated to the state-of-the-art and future needs in a number of areas related to the novel manufacturing processes and management, including but not limited to additive manufacturing and 3D printing, micro/nano-fabrication with metals, and precision casting technologies, as well as production management. Innovative processes and applications related to defence technologies will be discussed in this session.
